The Microbusiness Enterprise Corporation of Ascension (MBECA) offers specialized training and technical assistance for entrepreneurs, business owners, and professionals building stronger futures.
MBECA is an entrepreneurship development center with programs for individuals interested in starting a business, improving an existing business, or gaining management training to improve their marketability in the workplace.
Founded in 2003, MBECA supports micro businesses across Ascension, St. James, Iberville, and Assumption Parishes.

We were in the very beginning stages of entrepreneurship when I signed up to be a part of the MBECA CEO Roundtable Program. The program brought to us both experts and peers in varying stages of business and a safe place to share both successes and set-backs. The scheduled meetings helped me make time to focus on our business despite so many responsibilities in my life. It was through this program and MBECA Director Lee Melancon's mentorship that we completed our business plan, which was awarded funding during our first presentation to a finance board. We look forward to taking advantage of the benefits of the program as we get closer to opening our doors for the Ascension Parish community.
